Short cut for Avid

  • trim with JKL
    When in trim mode you can use JKL to trim, hold down K and use J or L to trim

In this tutorial we will make a userprofile that you can keep on a USB stick, so that you can use it on other maschines.

Start by organizing you setup, like mapping buttons, adjusting workspaces, timeline views and so.

When you are finish, go to the Settings tab

Select the User menu, and choose Create User profile

and the popup window you write a name for the user setting

And click OK

By clicking in the User profile menu you can switch between the different user profiles.

To export a user profile to a USB stick do the following:

Chose the User Profile Menu

Click on Export User Profile

And now you can export the user profile to a USB stick.

You can find the user profile files at the following place:


(Windows XP) drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Avid
editing application\Avid Users\UserName

(Windows Vista) drive:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Avid editing application\Avid
Users\UserName

(Macintosh) /Users/Shared/Avid editing application/Avid Users/UserName
